gotcha. i would in the way future get a new sorento in these years, i have a 2016 one 3.3 v6 right now and i love it. ive heard the 2.0 turbos and the 2.4 4 cylinders have a lot of problems in my year sorento and the v6 is a lot better. has kia improved those engines or problems in the new sorentos? A gasket may be loose and that needs to be tightened up quickly. You can have oil leaks and those need to be fixed as soon as possible. It has a 3.8L V6 engine - one that is common across Kia and Hyundai product lines. It has never had any major work done. I recently revived it after it sat for a bit over a year waiting for a bunch of repairs I didn't have the money to make. One of the flex sections in the exhaust Y pipe had come apart.
